These pages contain details of many of my ancestors and their families dating back to a time before the early 16c.

The roots of my Russell ancestors lie in the border areas of Devon, Somerset and Dorset while those of my maternal Phillipson ancestors lie mainly in Lancashire and Lincolnshire.

My more local ancestors originated in Nottingham, South Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.

This account of my heritage would not have been possible without the dedication and enthusiasm of my late brother Leslie
