Note on Husband: Joseph MASON

Maintenance Order, 15 May 1854; Illegitimate child born to Agnes Raynor of

Narrow Marsh. Joseph Mason of Goodalls Yard, Leenside, Lacemaker the father.

Joseph deserted Maria in the early 1850s and lived with Agnes Raynor. After many years of searching I finally found him living in Castle Greasley, Burton upon Trent in 1871. He was living with Agnes, now calling herself Ann, and the three youngest children. The children were sent to a wokhouse in Burton and Joseph and Ann, now calling herself Priscilla returned to Nottingham wher Joseph ended his days in the Nottingham Union Workhouse.

Note on Wife: Maria WHYLEY

Illegitimate daughter of Alice Whyley.
