A course aimed at fleet managers and operators who wish to improve the performance of their company car drivers and in doing so reduce their running costs - particularly in the fields of fuel, repairs and insurance premiums.
Government legislation that incorporates occupational driver safety into existing health and safety laws is increasing the pressure on company managers at all levels to address the risk management of their company car drivers.
These intensive half or full-day courses are designed to enhance the drivers awareness, reduce accident potential, and promote sympathetic handling of the vehicle.
Up to two trainees undergo training in one of the company's vehicles. The course begins with a short introduction and presentation before short assessment drives and a demonstration drive given by the instructor. The trainees then take turns at the wheel and are encouraged to learn from each other’s mistakes and from the corrective tuition given by the instructor.
Consideration is given to the need of a company's representatives to reach their destinations quickly, safely and refreshed. With this in mind the course aims to show the driver how to control a vehicle within the limits of its capabilities while making optimum progress and without breaking road traffic regulations.
