Advanced Driving
The advanced courses offered are structured around defensive and economic driving strategies and are designed to improve the standards of all drivers regardless of experience. From new drivers only recently having passed the basic learner test to drivers of company vehicles whose fleet managers wish to improve their performance and reduce running costs. All the courses enable the driver to reach the required standards to take the tests for membership of the Institute of Advanced Motorists and the RoSPA Advanced Drivers Association.
Each year nearly 4,000 people are killed and 300,000 seriously injured in accidents on Britain's roads. As human error is the indisputable major contributory factor in 95% of these accidents it is easy to see the benefits of Advanced Car Driver Training.
ADVANCED DRIVING involves being calm, unhurried and correctly positioned on the road at all times. Always travelling at a speed appropriate to the road and traffic conditions with the correct gear engaged and being fully aware of what is happening all around. It is necessary to plan well ahead and to always be ready to apply the prescribed system of car control when approaching and dealing with hazards. A thorough knowledge of the Highway Code is needed along with the discipline and skill required to drive according to its rules.
